ChevronWP7 wasn't messing around when they
announced their new Labs service last month. Not only does the service promise to offer an affordable device unlocking method, it's also Microsoft-approved! It doesn't get any better than that...until you hear about just how cheap ChevronWP7 is making device unlocking. Team member Chris Walsh has revealed through his Twitter account that
Lab unlocking a device will only cost $9. That's a hefty $90 discount from what Microsoft offers, although Labs will presumably come with less perks (such as the actual ability to publish apps to the Marketplace). We still don't know much about the service or if it will create a new alternative Marketplace for unofficial apps, so we'll be keeping our ears to the ground for more news.
