'Garmin StreetPilot' brings big-name navigation and even bigger pricetag to Marketplace

Do you really need turn-by-turn navigation but can't wait any longer for Mango's free Bing-powered solution? If you have forty dollars lying around to spend on an app, you may be in luck! Garmin's well-known StreetPilot app has just been released for Windows Phone today and we really aren't kidding about that (frankly ridiculous) $39.99. What does that chunk of cash get you in return?

Features include:
-Always up-to-date maps for the U.S. and Canada, downloaded to your device on demand
-Voice-prompted, turn-by-turn directions including street names
-Real-time traffic updates included at no additional cost
-Automatic map storage so you can browse maps you've recently viewed outside of data coverage areas
-Works great at both 3G and Edge connection speeds
-Speed limits for most major roads
-Integrated Local Search
-Millions of points of interest
-Lane assist with junction view for complicated interchanges
-Address book integration to navigate to contacts
-Current weather conditions and forecast
-Place calls directly from search listing
-Navigate in both portrait and landscape mode
-Easy to install with quick load times

Right now Mango's navigation is a little half-baked and, while convenient, may not be extensive enough if you're looking for exactly precise direction. Garmin does a good job with navigation and despite that hefty price tag it could be worth if for quality alone. Decide for yourself when you see it in the Marketplace by clicking on the tile below.
