Claims performance for mainstream users
Lenovo has recently announced three new desktop computer systems, two of which are part of the company's IdeaCentre K-series PCs, meant to meet the requirements of the general consumer market. The company's new desktop systems have been designed to integrate some of the latest hardware components, offering an impressive performance level within an affordable price range. The new systems are the Lenovo IdeaCentre K220, K230 and H200, the last of which has been designed on Intel's highly successful Atom platform.
The new IdeaCentre K220 from Lenovo has been provided as an upgrade version of the company's previous generation IdeaCentre K210 desktop. The new system packs Intel's Core 2 Quad processors and offers a maximum of 4GB of DDR3 memory, with support for DX10-compatible, high-definition graphics. The new IdeaCentre K220 also offers an optional Blu-ray Disc drive and boasts Lenovo's own VeriFace facial recognition technology, allowing for better security management.
The company's new K230 ups the ante and is the new flagship in the IdeaCentre K-series desktops. It is configured to provide a choice for a powerful desktop system with support for up to 8GB of DDR2 memory and Microsoft's 64-bit Windows Vista OS. This system is also packed with Intel's Core 2 Quad processors and has an optional Blu-Ray Disc drive and support for high-end graphics cards. Lenovo designed the K230 as a desktop for both editing and watching video.
The last of the newly announced Lenovo desktops is the H200, designed as a low-cost alternative for PC users on a budget, who require access to the Internet and need to view pictures and video, or perform basic computing tasks. The system is the first Lenovo desktop to be featured with the low-power Intel Atom processor, which has been featured in the company's IdeaPad S9 and S10 netbooks.
Lenovo announced that the IdeaCentre K220 and K230 will become available starting January 20 with pricing expected to start at $449 and $499, respectively. The H200 comes bundled with the ThinkVision L195 Wide LCD Monitor and starts at just $399, come January 10.
