Nokia N9 Press Photos Leaked, No Love for Windows Phone

The Windows Phone community has been on the edge of their seats to get a glimpse at Nokia's first Windows Phone and today...is not the day. Trust us, when we first saw these press shots from PocketNow we were scouring the entire picture for even a glimpse of the OS or its always-present back-Start-search buttons but sadly came up empty-handed. What you see above is indeed one of Nokia's N-series devices, which usually identifies their flagships, but it is not powered by Windows Phone. Instead the qHD, 8 megapixel-autofocus camera beast you see above is likely the company's first flagship for Meego (that other Nokia smartphone operating system).

So what does this mean to you, fellow Windows Phone fanatics? Well at least it shows one thing: Nokia is damn good at making their flagships unique. Just gaze upon that design and you'll realize it is familiar yet unlike anything you've seen in the market. It both recalls the Nokia N8 with its straight-edged design and yet looks nothing like it thanks to its square shape and the slight curvature in the glass above the display. This Nokia N9 may be nothing Windows Phone related, but it is a nice reminder that Nokia can make distinctive, lustful hardware which is exactly what Windows Phone needs to take off.
