Last week we mentioned that Microsoft was planning to send out development phones for Windows Phone Mango in lieu of a potentially-hackable ROM update. Now Winrumors reports that Microsoft may finally have worked out some of the kinks in their plans and are set to send out developer devices as soon as next week. According to the rumor, this release will only be the "first round" of devices and it is unknown which device will be available. Our bets are on the HTC Mazaa, which we've heard gossip of actually being a prototype and will therefore never see a public release.
So developers, if this is true how do you feel? Do you think Microsoft should just risk it and send out a ROM update for Mango, or does the benefit of having a real Mango chassis-ready phone outweigh convenience?
