Last Minute Mango Rumors: Mango Finished with Public Release in September, Front-Facing Cameras, and New Hardware Partners

The excitement for Mango is about to boil over and so a ton of last minute rumors have cropped up tonight riding Mango's wave of hype. Let's dig in.

First up we've got some gossip from Neowin, which is reporting that we're going to see a few releases tomorrow. Their sources claim that tomorrow will see the release of the much-anticipated Mango Development SDK, which was announced at MIX '11 to release sometime this month. The new development tools are going to bring a gargantuan amount of APIs for developers to tinker with and the added functionality of apps is too large to count.

Developers are going to need time to work on those new apps, and Neowin has it on good authority that they will. Their sources also report that Microsoft will be releasing the completed code to manufacturers like HTC and Samsung tomorrow. Yep, Microsoft wasn't kidding about their accelerated pace and Mango is said to be completely finished on their end. So when will we be getting our hands on Mango? In an effort to have a universal launch for Mango, Microsoft will deploy the Mango code to carriers over the Summer and handsets should receive their updates by September. So instead of carriers rolling out updates at random times and Windows Phone suffering from fragmentation, everybody will theoretically be receiving their updates around the same time. Sweet!

The second set of rumors comes from @MS_Nerd on Twitter, who previously spread word of Zune getting killed off in favor of Xbox Live and Windows Live branding. Tonight their rumors are specifically about Microsoft's Mango plans for launch. First is that Microsoft will be announcing three new hardware partners for Windows Phone, but the implied sarcasm in the tweet with the quotes around new suggests they aren't really new but in fact launch partners that failed to produce anything. The second part of the tweet suggested that every Mango launch device would be coming equipped with front-facing cameras, which also adds wood to the blazing flames of rumored Skype integration.

At this point, we're only a few hours away from the event so just hold on tight and we'll know more soon!
