Mango Preview: Acer, Fujitsu, and ZTE Are New Partners, 4G Windows Phones Coming

Andy Lees confirmed that the rumors are true and we are seeing new hardware partners enlisting in the Windows Phone cause. First Lees noted some existing manufacturers that are preparing devices for the Mango launch, which includes Samsung, LG and HTC. Dell was notably missing and we're not exactly sure why. But the other remaining partner manufacturers are launching with new devices soon, just not today.

Next Lees confirmed earlier speculation by name-dropping the new soldiers in their army: Acer, Fujitsu, and ZTE. It's noteworthy that all of these manufacturers are Asian which suggests to us that Microsoft could be gunning for some market penetration in that region. Speaking of market penetration, Andy Lees bragged about their alliance with Nokia and have confirmed they already have Nokia-built Windows Phones running Mango test builds in their labs, but besides that didn't go deeper.

Finally Andy Lees dropped a bombshell and said that 4G Windows Phones are on their way with Mango. He didn't go into any specifics like HSPA+ or LTE or WiMAX, but can assume it could be any of the above and either of those choices is going to be an improvement from what's currently available.
