Track Your Activity and Get Fit with 'RunKeeper'

With Summer just around the corner, you're probably planning to hit the beach a few times and snap some pics with your phone. But have you looked at yourself in the mirror? Thanksgiving may have been in November, but it looks like you just finished eating yesterday. So it's about time to start shaving those pounds and crafting a decent beach bod (we're working on it too!) and RunKeeper can help you with that:

RunKeeper uses the GPS technology found in the Windows Phone to track your fitness activity, giving you comparable results to an expensive GPS watch.

The intuitive and easy-to-use interface of the app makes it easy to track how far you went, how long it took, what your pace/speed was, how many calories you burned, and the path you traveled on a map.

Once your activity is completed, the data is synced to the RunKeeper website (www.runkeeper.com) where you can view a history of all of your activities, and cumulative totals of all of your vital stats. You can also share your progress with friends by posting your activities to Facebook and Twitter, and creating a profile page that allows people to view all of your public activities.

We've been testing out the app ourselves and it's pretty great to use. RunKeeper has a very clean and slick UI, supports more activities besides jogging, and offers a fully featured web client in order to really help you keep track and even share your progress with friends. RunKeeper is available in the Marketplace for free.
