Looks like we have our first look at some new Windows Phone Mango hardware set to launch later this year. Surprisingly, Acer is leading the charge and are proudly displaying their W4 handset at the ongoing Computex convention in Taipei, Taiwan. Here are the specs, which based on the presence of the Qualcomm MSM 8255 Snapdragon chip appears to be following the refreshed Chassis 1 specs. Here are the rest of the juicy details:
- 3.6 inch 480×800 display
- 5 MP Camera with Auto-Focus.
- HSPA 850/1900 or 900/2100 /GSM quad band 850/900/ 1800/ 1900 MHz Support.
- Qualcomm MSM 8255 running at 1GHz
- WiFi, Bluetooth 2.1
- DLNA Support
- Windows Phone Mango
- 8GB Storage
Not too shabby, but not exactly distinctive either. The 3.6 inch display should be a nice change of pace from all of those jumbo phones, but besides that Acer looks to be playing things safe with this one. Now that we're actually seeing hardware expected to run Mango, it looks like Microsoft's promise to deliver the major update by this Fall could actually come true this time.
