The hype is through the roof right now for tomorrow's Mango preview event and we're seeing a ton of content about Microsoft's plans for their fledgling smartphone platform. ZDNet's Mary Jo Foley, a reputable Microsoft insider, has written up an excellent editorial titled, "Microsoft's biggest 'Mango' challenege: Creating excitement without killing demand". In it, Foley tackles the all important question of when to buy a Windows Phone for those on the fence. We couldn't help thinking ourselves that the Verizon Trophy and AT&T HD7S are releasing about a month or two later than they should be. The probability of someone picking up the phone now and completely regretting it only a few months later is pretty high. Foley also goes deeper to talk about Microsoft's current enterprise strategy compared to Windows Mobile, and how their ambitious 'cut the cord' approach to build Windows Phone from scratch could actually be hurting businesses and stymying Windows Phone's enterprise adoption rate.
All in all it's a great read and an excellent piece to get your mind working before you're assaulted by headlines tomorrow morning.
