Superseding the latest Dev channel refresh issued earlier this week, Chrome 14.0.835.8 for Mac, Windows, Linux and Chrome Frame features an updated V8 engine (V8 - 3.4.14.2).
A bug causing the browser to fail opening PDF files has been addressed. A Windows-specific fix targets net-internals.
For Chrome fans using a Mac, Google engineers have implemented new code to allow the open source web browser to “respect natural/inverted scroll direction on Lion when gesturing.”
OS X Lion brings to the table a bunch of new Multi-Touch gestures giving Chrome developers a rough time, but it appears that things are progressing on the Dev channel.
It is fairly likely that we’ll see Chrome 14 advance to Beta as early as this week, though next week is probably a safer bet.
As usual, full details about what changes are in this build are available in the SVN revision log, according to Jason Kersey, of the Google Chrome development team.
Testers are encouraged to use the bug reporter whenever they stumble upon anything that doesn’t work properly.

WARNING: This release is not appropriate for general consumer use. Several features, such as bookmarks password import and certain privacy features, are unavailable at this time. DOWNLOAD THIS only if you are a developer or take great pleasure in incomplete, unpredictable, and potentially crashing software.
Running the application requires an Intel-based machine (PowerPC systems are not supported), and a minimum 128 MB of RAM.
For users relying on Chrome for their work, or other important tasks, we recommend installing Chrome 12 Stable.
The Stable build contains an updated Flash plugin, various security fixes, and other minor tweaks that enable the browser to run smoothly on pretty much any computer configuration, as long as the aforementioned specs are met.
