This is a little confusing. Late last night, I had noticed my Samsung Focus (on AT&T) was weirdly laggy. The Start page was stuttering and tiles were constantly refreshing their images when scrolling into view. The same issue happened with the app list which was also slow. So I did the most obvious, non-tech savvy thing I could do: I turned the phone off.
When I turned the phone back on, things seemed normal at first as the Samsung logo popped up. Here's where things get interesting: when it was the AT&T splash screen's turn to show up, instead I got that weird solid orange screen you see above. What's even more bizarre is that the phone seemed to be working too! While fumbling around to take a picture with my camera, I suddenly heard my email notification tone go off. I just couldn't get past the orange screen. I'm assuming the error was caused by the AT&T splash screen due to the pretty obvious resemblance in the shade of orange (note: my phone theme was set to blue). I restarted the phone again (no 'Goodbye!' message on powering down) and this time everything was back to normal and the phone was running as smooth as it should have been.
So until this is explained, I am going to lovingly refer to this phenomenon (keeping in Windows tradition) as the "Orange Screen of Annoyance". Are there any other Focus owners who have experienced this odd, weirdly annoying bug?
